Born 1962.
Graduated from Secondary technical school of graphics and FAMU, Department of art photography (Prof. Ján Šmok) in Prague, Czech Republic. He creates thematic cycles (Night express 1981, New Year´s Eve in Hotel Jalta 1985 – 1986, Withdrawal of Soviet troops, New York 1993 – 1995, Franz Kafka's Prague 2001. Jan Jindra has been working on project "Journeys of Franz K." from 2002 until now. Gives a lectoures about project "Journeys of Franz K.". He was awarded in the Young European Photographers contest in Frankfurt (Germany) and his works were published in calendar of Deutsche leasing AG. He participated in a superior photographic workshop in USA (Eddie Adams Workshop III.).
He became a regular member of the Independent photographers and designers Society in Germany (Bund Freischaffender Foto-Designer – www.bff.de). Jan Jindra was awarded the first prize in the Czech Press Photo contest,in the category of Science and technique in 2001.
Two years later he received first prize in the Canon contest in Poland.
Since 2002 he teaches at Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Department of multimedia communications. He is a pedagogue at Department of advertising photography and utility graphic design. His photographs were published in: Le Monde 2, Perfil, El Pais, Clarin, Prager Zeitung, Literaturen, Brennpunkt, Paris Match, Espagne, Angeltere,Afrique du Sud, Photonews, Softwarové noviny.
